I have written a few songs for and those of us in recovery. Actually they are more like "works in progress." As many of us are!

Home (hotel room demos) recordings with an encouraging word and a message of hope to all.

Rough and loose for sure but.....see what you think. If it brings a little joy to you when you need it, then I am thankful for that. (mp)

The most precious words of advice are usually very simple.

Don't drink or use no matter what. (mp)

Another work in progress created today saying affirm positive statements. They can draw in what you are affirming and need.

For many of us, it was too hard to make it alone. Cravings, bad company, wrong environment all was more than our will power could process. Environment can be stronger than will power.

We really intended on not using, but...the road to hell is paved with good intentions. What we needed was the support and guidance of those who had safely made the journey to joyful recovery and could  show us the way. So we joined a twelve step program like A.A. and C.A.

Then we try to pass on the good word.

The combined positive energy of a roomful of people sharing their strength, hope and encouragement and prayer with each other is awesome. Just sitting there and watching makes a difference.

It's like calling AAA when your car dies on you from an empty battery. Sometimes it happens on a dark, lonely highway somewhere. But you make that call and they find you. They come with a big, powerful battery that charges yours up so you can be on your way.

So it is my brothers and sisters with the program. Thee Program! And it's free. Just takes a willingness to try and begin.

If you or someone you know is having problems staying clean and sober you are welcome to pass on my email to them.

Sobriety is like a bank account. We make deposits so when, not if, the day comes when all seems too much to handle, we can make a withdrawal from our sobriety account. But if there's nothing in the account.....

I know it works! Millions of lives are saved and restored every year. Families come back together better than ever. Life is good. What we need starts coming to us.

Please accept my unconditional friendship. It's free.

Peace, Love, Joy,

Your pal always,

MP
